Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King PC port: quick answers

- Yes. DQ8Recomp needs game files from a copy you own. PlayPorted links only to the project page and never to game files.
- Is the Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King PC port finished?
- It is in beta: playable, with known issues. Its last update was Oct 2026.
- Which systems does it run on?
- Windows, macOS and Linux.
- Is it an emulator?
- No. DQ8Recomp translates the original game code into native code, so it runs without an emulator.
